Position Purpose:            The IT Manager performs a variety of complex technical, administrative, and supervisory work in the development, installation and maintenance of information technology systems.  This role requires some weekend work and 24x7 availability. 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for the discovery, mitigation and documentation of information technology risks.

·         Ensures the security of data and information pertaining to the organization, which includes encrypting data on laptops to protect Company data.

·         Supervises and directs the deployment, development, maintenance and repairs of the Company’s internal computer networks, servers, desktop systems, website, voice communication system, and physical security systems.

·         Develop and enforce network and desktop level acceptable use and computer security policies and standards.

·         Oversee and assist with troubleshooting, support, desktop deployments, new systems implementations, systems backups, data archiving, disaster recovery and other task.

·         Keep senior management informed both formally and informally of new developments in technology and suggests upgrades and new systems for deployment.

·         Create and manage long-range computer technology plans and budgets.

·         Manage, supervise and train Desktop Support Technician.

Required Education or Equivalent Training:

·         Bachelors of Computer Science or equivalent experience.

·         Apple technical certifications preferred

Required Experience:

·         At least 5 – 10 years in technical support role.

·         At least 5 years of technology management experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

·         CISSP, SSCP certification or equivalent.

·         Proven ability with managing, troubleshooting, maintaining and deploying Macintosh OSX based desktop computer systems.

·         Experience with managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining local and wide area networks.

·         A working knowledge of Linux based email and firewall systems.

·         Understanding of voice communications systems.

·         Understanding of physical security and access control systems.

·         Customer service oriented; ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical users.

·         Proven and outstanding abilities in oral and written communications, self-motivation, organizational skills and time management skills.

·         Annual contract negotiations with vendors.

·         Some international travel may be required.
